Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Zara. It was a beautiful, sunny morning. The sky was as blue as a blueberry. The sun was shining big and bright.
Zara put on her favorite yellow shoes. Click, clack, click, clack! She ran outside to her backyard. The grass was soft and green.
The flowers were dancing in the wind. Zara looked down at the ground. She saw something dark and wiggly on the patio. It was her Shadow!
Zara waved her hand high. Whoosh! The Shadow waved its hand high. Zara jumped up.
Boing! The Shadow jumped up. Zara spun around in a circle. Wheee!
The Shadow spun around in a circle too. Zara stopped and put her hands on her hips. 'You are copying me! 'she said with a giggle.
The Shadow put its hands on its hips too. Zara walked to the big oak tree. The Shadow walked to the big oak tree. Zara stood in the shade.
The sun went behind a cloud. Poof! The Shadow was gone. Zara looked around.
Where did the Shadow go? Then the sun came back. Zap! The Shadow was back.
Zara laughed. 'Peek-a-boo, Shadow! 'she said. Zara sat on the grass.
She wanted to play a new game. She did not want to just walk and jump. She wanted to make shapes. She stood up very tall.
She put her arms out wide like wings. Flap, flap, flap! 'I am a bird! 'she chirped.
On the ground, the Shadow looked just like a giant eagle. It looked so strong. Can you guess what happened next?
Zara crouched down low. She made her hands into pinchy claws. Snap, snap! 'I am a crab,'she whispered.
The Shadow was a funny crab on the grass. Zara stood on one leg. She wobbled a little bit. She used her other arm to make a long neck.
'I am a giraffe! 'she said. The Shadow was the tallest giraffe in the whole backyard. Zara had the best idea.
She moved her body in a twisty way. She made her head look like a flower, and her arms like leaves. Her Shadow looked like a dancing tree. Zara danced.
The Shadow tree danced. It was magical. The sun made the Shadow look like it was glowing. Zara felt so happy.
She was making art with her body! The sun started to get sleepy. It moved lower in the sky. The colors changed to orange and purple.
The Shadow stretched out long and thin. It reached across the whole yard. Zara lay down on the soft grass. She felt safe and warm.
The Shadow lay down beside her. 'Good job, Shadow,'said Zara. 'We are artists. 'The stars started to twinkle in the sky.
It was time for dinner. Zara went inside with a big smile, ready to dream of new shapes for tomorrow.
