Once upon a time, in a sunny kindergarten classroom, there were five best friends. Their names were Ava, Ben, Cara, Dan, and Ella. The room was bright and colorful. There were pictures on the walls.
There were soft rugs on the floor. It was a happy place to be. One sunny morning, the teacher had a surprise. It was art time!
The children were so excited. Yay! They ran to the big art table. Zoom!
Whoosh! They sat down on their little chairs. The teacher gave them paper and glue and lots of sparkly buttons. But then...
uh oh! Something clumsy happened. A big box of glitter tipped over. Whoosh!
The glitter went everywhere. It was on the table. It was on the chairs. It was on the floor.
Sparkle, sparkle, sparkle. The mess was huge! Ava looked at the glittery floor. Her eyes got wide.
She felt worried. Oh no, she thought. This is too big for me. Ben tried to sweep the glitter with his hands.
Swish, swish. But the glitter just spread around more. Ben felt sad. I cannot fix this, Ben said.
Cara looked at the mess. She wanted to help, but she felt small. Dan scratched his head. What can we do?
he asked. The glitter was like a shiny rainbow puddle. It was pretty, but it was a big problem. Then, Ella smiled a big smile.
She had a wonderful idea. Wait! Ella said. We are five friends.
If we work together, we can do anything! Can you guess what happened next? Ava, Ben, Cara, Dan, and Ella stood in a circle. They held hands.
Squeeze, squeeze. We are a team! they said together. Ava ran to get the dustpan.
Clack, clack, clack. Ben ran to get the big broom. Swish, swish, swoosh. Cara found the trash bag.
Rustle, rustle, rustle. Dan held the bag open wide. Open wide! he said.
Ella used her hands to sweep the last bits. Scrunch, scrunch, scrunch. Ava swept the glitter into the pan. Dump!
It went into the bag. Ben swept the corners. Swish! Cara held the bag steady.
Dan cheered them on. Go team, go! Ella made sure the floor was clean. They worked fast.
They worked hard. They helped each other. One, two, three, clean! they sang.
Soon, the floor was shiny again. The big mess was gone. The teacher came back to the table. She looked around.
Wow! she said. The room is so clean. You are all wonderful helpers.
The five friends looked at each other and smiled. They felt happy. They felt proud. They hugged each other.
Squeeze! We did it together, said Ava. Teamwork makes us strong, said Ben. And they all laughed.
Hee, hee, hee! It was a very good day in kindergarten.
