Once upon a time, little mermaid Lila lived in a sparkly coral house. Swish! Swish! Her tail was soft pink like cotton candy.
One sunny morning, Mama Mermaid said,"Lila, I lost my Giggle Pearl! It makes silly bubbles that go HA-HA!" Lila's heart went thump-thump. She felt a tiny bit scared.
The deep blue water was BIG. But Mama looked sad. Lila took a tiny breath."I will find it!
I can be brave!" Splash! Lila swam past dancing seahorses. She saw a shiny red crab."Hello, Mr. Crab! Have you seen Mama’s Giggle Pearl?" The crab clicked,"No, but try behind the giggling clams!" Lila giggled too. Swish! She swam on. The water got darker.
Lila’s tummy felt wobbly."I am a little scared," she whispered. Then she hugged her sparkly shell necklace."But I can still be brave like Mama says." Whoosh! A gentle whale named Wally appeared."Why the sad face, little one?" Lila sniffed."I can’t find the Giggle Pearl." Wally smiled BIG."Let’s look together!
Two hearts are braver than one!" Zoom! They dove deeper. Lila saw glowing jellyfish lanterns.
She saw twisty purple seaweed. Then POP! Something shiny rolled from behind a rock. It was a tiny white pearl that giggled,"Tee-hee!" Lila clapped."Found you!" She hugged Wally."Thank you for helping me be brave!" They zoomed back home. Mama Mermaid cried happy tears. Bubble bubble! The Giggle Pearl made rainbow bubbles that sang,"Lila is our brave hero!" Lila’s heart felt warm and proud. She learned that being brave means doing something even when you feel a little scared. And guess what? The Giggle Pearl now lives in Lila’s room, still giggling every night.
