Once upon a time, in a land full of soft green grass, there lived a little boy named Leo. Leo was a brave explorer. He wore a blue cape that fluttered in the wind. Whoosh!
Whoosh! Leo loved to find new things. One sunny morning, Leo met a big, friendly owl. Her name was Hoot.
Hoot was a wise guide. She knew everything about the forest. Hoot had big, bright eyes. Hello, Leo!
said Hoot. Hello, Hoot! said Leo. Are you ready for an adventure?
asked Hoot. Yes! said Leo. I am brave!
They walked into the tall, tall trees. The trees looked like green giants. Crunch, crunch went their feet on the leaves. Suddenly, the sky turned dark.
The birds stopped singing. Leo felt a little scared. His tummy felt funny. What is that?
asked Leo. It is just a shadow, said Hoot gently. Be brave, Leo. Take my wing.
Leo held Hoots soft wing. He took a deep breath. In and out. Then, they saw it.
A shiny star stone was stuck in a bush! It glowed like the moon. But the bush had prickly thorns. Oh no!
said Leo. How will we get it? Can you guess what happened next?
Leo looked at the bush. He wanted the star stone. He took one step. Then two steps.
He was not too scared. He was brave! Reach! said Hoot.
Leo reached out his hand. He moved a prickly branch. Carefully, carefully. He grabbed the shiny stone.
Pop! The stone came free. It sparkled in Leo's hand. It was so beautiful.
You did it! cheered Hoot. Leo felt so happy. His heart went thump, thump, thump.
I am brave! said Leo. Yes, you are, said Hoot. They walked back home.
The sun came out again. Twinkle, twinkle went the star stone. Leo put the stone in his pocket. He would keep it forever.
Being brave means you try, even if you feel scared. And Leo was very, very brave. The end.
