Once upon a time, there was a little lion named Leo. Leo had soft, golden fur and a very red backpack. He wanted to be a brave explorer. But sometimes, Leo felt a little bit scared.
One sunny morning, a blue bird named Bella flew down. Bella was a wise guide. She knew all the secrets of the forest. Bella had a shiny map in her beak.
'Leo! 'Bella chirped. 'Let us find the hidden treasure! 'Leo looked at the big green forest.
It looked very tall. 'Are you sure? 'Leo asked. 'Yes!
'said Bella. 'But we must be brave. 'Leo took a deep breath. In went the air.
Out went the air. 'I am ready,'said Leo. 'I am brave, I am brave. 'First, they walked to the tall grass.
The grass went *Swish, swish*. It tickled Leo’s nose. *Achoo! * Leo sneezed.
Bella giggled. *Giggle, giggle*. 'Bless you, Leo! 'said Bella.
Can you make a sneeze sound? Leo and Bella walked deeper into the woods. The trees were big and green. Suddenly, a loud noise went *Crash!
* Leo stopped. His heart went *Thump, thump*. 'What was that? 'Leo whispered.
He felt scared. Bella flew up high. 'It is okay, Leo,'she called down. 'It is just a silly monkey dropping a fruit.
'Leo smiled. 'I am safe,'he said. 'I am brave, I am brave. 'Next, they came to a rushing river.
The water went *Splash, bubble, splash*. 'How do we cross? 'Leo asked. Bella pointed to big stones.
'Hop like a bunny, Leo! 'Leo put his paw on the first stone. It was slippery. *Whoops!
* Leo almost fell. But he held on tight. He hopped to the next stone.
*Hop! * Then the next stone. *Hop! * He made it to the other side.
'You did it! 'Bella sang. Finally, they saw the mountain. The treasure was inside a dark cave.
The cave looked like a big mouth. It was very dark inside. Leo stopped again. 'I cannot go in there,'Leo said.
'It is too dark. 'Bella landed on Leo’s shoulder. She was very warm. 'Courage is feeling scared,'Bella said softly.
'But courage means you try anyway. 'Leo looked at the dark cave. He closed his eyes. He remembered his red backpack.
He remembered he was a strong lion. 'Okay,'said Leo. 'I can do this. 'They walked into the cave.
*Step, step, step. * It was quiet. Suddenly, a light appeared!
It was the treasure box. It was glowing with yellow light. *Wow! * Leo opened the box.
*Creak! * Can you guess what was inside? Was it gold? Was it cookies?
Leo looked inside. There was a shiny mirror. Leo looked at the mirror. He saw his own happy face.
Bella laughed. *Ha, ha, ha! *'The treasure is you, Leo! 'Bella said.
'You found your courage! 'Leo felt warm and happy inside. He was not just a little lion. He was a brave explorer.
'I am brave,'Leo roared softly. 'Roar! 'They walked home as the sun went down. The sky was purple and orange.
Leo was not scared of the dark anymore. He had his brave heart with him. And he had his best friend Bella too. What a wonderful day!
